Visual Insights: Dennys Photo Gallery: Awesome Quiet Landscapes by Adrians Art

Visual Insights: Dennys Photo Gallery: Awesome Quiet Landscapes by Adrians Art: From Denny: This week, while on one of my spectacular "visual vacations," I discovered this awesome photographer over at flickr. This photographer, Adrian Campfield, is based in the United Kingdom and has an incredible emotional connection to Nature's beauty. The early sunrise and sunset landscape photography is breathtaking, exuding a wonderful sense of peace and tranquility.

The commentary under the photos are all from the photographer. Be sure to visit this photographer's flickr pages by just clicking on the photograph!

Since he is a professional photographer you are in luck if you wish to purchase prints of any of these beauties, just click on over here: Adrian's Art. He is also a pastel, pencil and watercolor artist and includes examples of his work on the site. This is an awesome body of work taken from 2007 - 2011. Poem: People Trees

This was the poem I wrote last week for my Friday poem over at The Social Poets blog and I've been meaning to get it up over here. The folks over at StumbleUpon came in by the hordes for these wonderful photos, enjoy!

Drink in the richness of the wonderful photos from the photographers over at flickr in creative commons. (I find them beautiful and emotionally soothing.) You are free to use their photos if you also give attribution and a link back to their flickr page.

I've been thinking about what poem to write all week, and, as usual, started on another idea which just didn't gel well or in time. That's what's good about setting deadlines for yourself as you get that rush of adrenaline going to get out the words. :) Anyway, was researching some wonderful photos and kept finding awesome trees and one thing led to another as I knew my eternal mind was tapping my everyday mind on the shoulder and saying, "Hey! What about this?"

Photos often do give me inspiration for writing as so many ideas start flowing. Take a trip on over to flickr yourself to get inspired. You can always view my 5,000+ favorites I've found while researching for articles as I keep them bookmarked "just in case."

*****

People Trees

Some of us ruggedly root ourselves mountain high to savor the views

Some of us enjoy beauty’s lingering mirrored perfection

Some of us feel forlorn in life’s landscape, until we see we are a duet

Some of us like to stand tall with a crowd, all in a perfect row

Some of us like to party with different people, the more the merrier

Some of us like to stand out in a crowd, fiercely plumped proud

Some of us see our own rippling beauty, reflected in the mirrors of others

Some of us rush to greet the exploding morning at first blush

Some of us sway and bend with life’s swirling storms yet remain

Some of us rush zig zagging through life and still look wildly beautiful

Some of us safely hold dear a child’s swing and his playful heart

Some of us are strong, sheltering lightly in the shadows

Some of us rise up from the water and tenaciously breathe through our knees*

Some of us suffer, enduring kindly a bit of indignity from time to time

Some of us absorb the strongest truth, filtering softly inner light

Some of us like to stroll unknown passageways and secret gardens

Some of us play hard to get, secretly happy to see company coming

Some of us like to wear jewelry, all decked out at least once a year

And some of us

dream big

just by looking up – lost in thought for hours.

Have a great weekend, everyone! Thanks for visiting!

*Cyprus trees have what are called "knees" - those bumps you see sticking out of the water near the roots which are underwater in the swamps. These knees are how the cyprus tree breathes the air!

Science Articles You Might Enjoy

From Denny: Since I have too many interests I've parked them on other blogs in addition to this one. Apparently, most people start a blog, lose interest, abandon the first one to start another blog. Not me. I just keep expanding to ADD more blogs! (totally crazy, I suppose - but hey! I'm happy...)

Anyway, articles about how the brain works, astronomy, psychology, some math and physics on basic levels is what I park over at the blog The Soul Calendar. It keeps climbing in the traffic rankings quite nicely and I happily write about whatever catches my interest for the week! Life is good!

I'm still poking around the web for children's resources for parents and science projects readers might find interesting. If you know of any sites or projects, speak up and shoot me an email at warriorspearl@gmail.com, much appreciated!

Here are a few posts you might find an interesting read:

More April Fools Day Funnies

For more April Fools Day hoaxes from the math and science geek crowd, hike yourself on over to one of my other blogs: The Soul Calendar - go here.

On that blog I place a lot of articles about the mind, how the brain works, some astronomy (killer eclipse photos) and anything else mildly geeky I enjoy when I read magazines like Discover. Enjoy!

Asthma in Cats - Natural Cures

Asthma in Cats - Natural Cures -

"Vets say coughing and wheezing are signs of asthma in cats. It is usually caused by dust or pollen in the air. Asthma happens when airways in the lungs become inflamed and constricted making it harder for air to get through. (Dogs are less commonly afffected.)

Writing in the book The Doctors Book of Home Remedies for Dogs and Cats by the editors of Prevention Magazine Health books say 'While most cats may require medication, there are things you can do at home to keep him breathing easy.'"

Feedburner Glitch

Now I know why my feed counts have been going up and down wildly. Turns out Feedburner keeps deactivating them: on all 7 blogs! So, apologies, if you have found this maddening; join the club. Guess it's taking Google and Feedburner longer to merge and work out the gremlins than they are telling the public, oh, well... Meanwhile, rest assured I will be now manually monitoring these feeds twice a day to keep them activiated. Thank you for your patience everyone!

Don't you just love this photo of an ass? Such a good fit when things go wrong because that's how you feel and look to others! Might as well have some fun with screw-ups, right! ;)

Thanks go to the folks over at flickr who place their photos in the Creative Commons area for online writers and bloggers like me, much appreciated! They can be so funny.

Thank you to new Feed subscribers!

From Denny:

Hello, everyone! Thanks for joining up and taking The Healing Waters feed!

Since I started this blog a few months ago, the aim was to provide articles to help people help heal themselves on many levels.

Give me a shout if you want to view something in particular that I haven't gotten around to posting. If you like something in particular then let me know that too and I'll scout around for more of it from a wider variety of writers for you.

You can leave comments here on this blog. If you want to leave private comments then feel free to contact me, Denny Lyon: warriorspearl@gmail.com.

The whole point of this blog is that it is meant to be a healing resource for you! Some days all we need is a kind word or two to help get us back in balance. Sometimes, just a beautiful photo is so soothing! Or a humorous photo gets us laughing again!

Some days we need more, much more. That's why I put a feed here from Bruce Elkin, life coach out of Canada. He's an easy-going guy who specializes in working with very sensitive artistic people like poets, writers, artists and photographers. He's equally adept in working with business folks and frazzled stay-at-home moms and dads.

I found him over at HubPages where I am writing and really liked him. He even likes poetry! That makes him cool in my book! :) I have a poetry blog too: The Social Poets.

Most of all I really enjoy his articles as they are so timely for folks who are severely stressed from this chaotic economy. Any writer I put up here either writes in a way that appeals to me as a fellow writer or at the least they have some useful information and an interesting take on a subject.

If you found Bruce helpful be sure to drop him a line at HubPages. He's a sociable guy and would enjoy hearing from you.

BTW, did you notice the new slideshow I put together for you at the top of the page? It's a whole lot of photos from my friends over at flickr. There is so much beauty in the world and they captured a lot of it!

All my blogs take a bit longer than usual to load as they are photo rich and I like a larger format for photos. While it is annoying for how long it takes to load - I decided it's best to stick with the rich and beautiful format instead of quick to load but visually dull to look at. Besides, who ever said I was a conformist? :) Hopefully, the flickr slideshow will keep you entertained, amused and enriched while the page loads.

Again, thank you everyone for signing up on this feed, much appreciated!

CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS - A Self-Improvement Basic

CHANGE YOUR BELIEFS - A Self-Improvement Basic: "Many years ago, I worked for a boss who was abusive to his employees, and to the company's suppliers, and was, in my opinion, unethical, too. These were later conclusions, but I was a young man and I wanted to make an impression and get on in the company. I tried to gain the respect and appreciation of this man, my boss.

The more I tried, the more disrespect I seemed to get from him. And the worse he treated me, the more hurt I became. I began to doubt my own competence, my own ability. It was a very trying time for someone who wanted to progress and I felt thwarted at every turn. My self-esteem was being chipped away."

If You're Bipolar Stay On Your Meds

If You're Bipolar Stay On Your Meds - "It's no easy trick to manage the ups and downs of a bipolar brain. The treatment goal is to help you function within a normal range -- not too up, not too down, but just right...As a bipolar, your brain suffers from a major chemical imbalance.

One way or another, it needs to be rebalanced, it craves to be rebalanced. This is why, without even knowing they're doing it, so many bipolars turn to "self-medicating" with alcohol and drugs. They are naturally obeying their brain's command to please, please stop this roller coaster and give me some peace!"
