A Truth Journal: Brian Williams: What's The WHOLE BS Story? It's Not What You Think

There is a lot of spiritual truth that considers how Liars and Haters operate.

A Truth Journal: Brian Williams: What's The WHOLE BS Story? It's Not What You Think: From Denny:  Now that the Haters have enjoyed dancing on the head of former NBC News anchor Brian Williams it's time for the reasonable types to speak up and get heard for a change - without all the histrionics and chest thumping self-righteousness hogging the national attention.

Observing how this ugly journalism  drama has played out it sure makes me glad I never got involved on that national level of the Dog and Pony Show, choosing another path.

And, as a small niche journalist blogger that gets read more by world intelligence agencies, think tanks, world diplomatic corps and military - along with political junkies like myself and heavy-breathing journalists who desperately want the opportunity to be journalists again -
I'm free to state the obvious that the networks and big news agencies quash: dissent...

The Social Poets: 2012 London Olympics: Olympic Boner, Funny Late Nite Jokes, Colbert, Stewart Videos: From Denny:  The London 2012 Olympics took the world TV watching community by storm in record numbers.

That, and with the global economic meltdown we are all too poor to go out so we holiday indoors with our monster TVs for free, right?  The Olympics have proven to be some exciting stuff, something for everyone.

Of course, our national comics have enjoyed a bit of commentary.  Enjoy the laughs as the Olympics winds down into its last week.

Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart video clips are sure to make you laugh right off your chair!  The Stewart clip about the rower with the "two mice hugging a banana" is funnier than the photo of the famous Olympic Boner.  All that for just a bronze medal? :)

Famous Nutritionist Joy Bauer Offers 5 Dieting Tips for Success

From Denny: Wow! This little video sure is packed with useful information! And I took notes. :)

Joy Bauer, nutritionist and founder of The Joy Fit Club, featured over at The Today Show, takes live calls, offering advice of how handle the dieting process.

When asked about how to motivate yourself Joy suggested the way to keep your focus is to keep a food journal, jotting down any issues you think you might encounter during the day. Positive self-talk is very important for encouragement and confidence. Give yourself non-food rewards like a pedicure when you reach a small goal like losing five pounds. Save yourself a fun food every day in the late afternoon so you have something to look forward to having. Denying yourself just creates that backlash effect. Portion out about 150 calories of a favorite food like cookies or ice cream and enjoy!

When asked about hitting that dreaded plateau when the weight won't budge off your body Joy suggested shaving off 100 - 200 calories per day of what you have already been doing. When the body gets smaller it requires fewer calories and will not continue to lose weight. Taking up weight training is great for getting off that plateau since building muscle mass and a great cardio will cause you to burn more calories. Another strategy is to close the kitchen at night after dinner since most women tend to continue snacking at night. This will help your body burn calories before you go to bed and your body slows down digestion to go into sleep and repair mode. Try treating yourself to a favorite warm herbal tea to satisfy any mild hunger.

When asked about the grain Quinoa she responded that it is the new superfood full of fiber, magnesium and iron. One cup of quinoa gives us eight grams of protein. It is a dense food full of minerals and protein that many impoverished societies around the world use to survive. It is cooked delicious with some chicken broth and can be used as a side dish like rice. Quinoa is awesome mixed in with salad greens like a pilaf. You can even make it like a breakfast porridge it's that versatile.

When asked about what foods to eat to get glowing skin as we grow older Joy reminded us to focus upon beta-carotin vegetables. That's those orange and dark green veggies like sweet potatoes, carrots, spinach and winter squashes. For great skin be sure to include those Omega fatty acids like you get from salmon and other similar fish along with flax seeds.

When asked about how to diet off belly fat Joy suggested to a woman of average size to keep her calories down to about 1200 - 1500 a day. Eating a lot of non-starchy vegetables, fruits, berries and air popped popcorn are all great to help reduce belly fat. What else should we watch that are dense foods full of calories but healthy for us? Here's a list to keep in moderation: dried fruit, jams, nuts and seeds, nut butters, granola, salad dressing, olive oil and avocado.

Clean Hidden Areas of Your Home, Avoid Allergy Causing Mold and Mildew

From Denny: This is a fun segment from author Julie Edelman of "The Accidental Housewife." She addresses many hidden and often overlooked areas of the home that require attention to kill off mold and mildew before allergies are created or aggravated. Besides, mold and mildew is hazardous to our health if it gets out of control.

Her suggestions:

Shower curtain:
Julie suggests cutting off the long hems so it does not sit on the shower area but rather hangs free and drips, avoiding mildew issues. Spraying with a bottle of Listerine helps on a daily basis. What she suggested and I do at home is take down the curtain and throw it into the washing machine with bleach. It does a great job.

Kids' tub toys: Since many bathrooms hold moisture during the day it's a good idea to wash these tub toys carefully before each use. Make sure these get a good soaking in white vinegar to sanitize them. Even take a toothbrush to those small nooks and crannies to root out mold and mildew.

Washing machine: Did you know your washing machine was a moisture magnet, growing mold and mildew? Sweet. I usually do a bleach wash of at least kitchen towels every week and that takes care of the issue that potentially could build up in the machine. Julie suggests a new product out by Tide just to clean the machine. She also advises to clean the rims of the washing machine with the sanitizer white vinegar.

Bath towels: Mold and mildew in Louisiana is a big deal with our humidity. We even wash our bath towels every day because hanging them up for the next day just doesn't work out well since they don't completely dry and can easily mildew. Julie suggest washing them with the shower curtain so the towels act as an abrasive. I would only do that if the shower curtain had soap scum, not if it had mold and mildew as that could penetrate your towels and discolor even if killed by the bleach.

Refrigerator: Have you noticed she targets any appliance or area of the house with possible lingering moisture? Check out the drip pans underneath your refrigerator and clean with vinegar as roaches and other bugs like this area to hide and multiply.

Make sure you also dust well your refrigerator coils, especially if you have pets like I do. All that possible bacteria can make a house smell if allowed to build up. It also is a good idea to clean well if you have pets as fur builds up, clogging the efficiency of your refrigerator to work well, costing you more money.

Vacuum cleaner brushes: Bet you didn't think about cleaning that one. The brushes can get a build up of dust mites which is far from appetizing for the allergy crowd. They are easily cleaned with white vinegar as a simple inexpensive sanitizer.

Sport, tennis shoes: To get the moisture out of these, just stuff with newspaper or dust with baking soda. Washing them from time to time is also a great idea to hold down the bacteria.

Video: Interview with a Psychiatrist on His Spiritual Growth

From Denny: This is a British radio interview done with Dr. Mitchell Gibson, a trained psychiatrist. What he begins to discuss are the beginnings of his spiritual journey, how he met a Buddhist monk as a child who taught the class meditation, how he later finally used that meditation during the stressful time of his medical residency.

Bit by bit God was leading him, as he does us all, into great spiritual awareness and development. Dr. Gibson has studied a lot of world religions like a lot of seekers. With his medical training of the analytical mind he was able to connect the dots on a lot of thoughts not usually discussed.

This is the first in a series of great videos concerning what he discovered on his spiritual path. Among them is the 1500 year old Jewish mystics ancient Kabbalah prayer called the Ana Bekoach: the 42 letter name of God. This is a powerful prayer for healing, well, everything. I'll get into the exact meaning of each line and how to say the prayer in other posts. First I wanted to introduce you to this teacher so you know where he is coming from. While he does have a site where he sells videos and audios, I found everything on YouTube free for the embedding in posts.

The promo text on YouTube:

"Esoteric Online interview Dr. Mitchell Earl Gibson, one of the most well known and highly respected medical doctors in the state of Arizona. He has been the mental health consultant for the largest television station (NBC-Affiliate KPNX-TV12 Phoenix) for the past eight years. Dr. Gibson has also been consulted by every major television, radio, and newspaper service in Arizona for his expertise in the fields of mental health and human behavior.

Dr. Gibson has been named to the "Top Doctors" list in Phoenix three times and twice to the Woodward and White "Best Doctors listing. Dr. Gibson was named to the position of "Honorary Chairman" for the state of Arizona by the National Republican Health-Care Reform Committee for his work on health-care reform. He is also listed in the "Consumer's Guide to America's Top Psychiatrists" for 2003, 2004 and 2005
An interesting and inspirational interview with a great man!"
