A Truth Journal: How Democrats Can Win Midterm Elections? If Women Ain't Happy Then Country Ain't Happy: From Denny: Women voters are furious at not having our issues taken seriously by either national political party.

Women voters are the foundation of the Democrat Party yet do not get the time of day to get any serious legislation passed that could actually be effective to improve the lives of all women: equal pay, higher minimum wage, dealing with abuse online and in the work place, and, let's not forget the outrageous refusal of Military Rape Rights and justice for rape victims. Congress arrogantly rejected to renew legislation against abusing women that had been passed by former Senator, now current Vice President Joe Biden.

Why should that kind of legislation have to be renewed in the first place? We don't see that type of temporary odious legislation imposed upon gays or African-Americans. Why do women get kicked around on these issues of abuse and rape?

If the Democrats want to win, and win big for the midterm elections, then it's time for the Democrats - and this President - to get decisive and make a big very public show of real action. And you know I'm gonna tell you how to achieve this...

A Truth Journal: Govt Shutdown: Venzuelan Chicago Marathon Runner Delivers True Grit Congress Does Not: From Denny: As the government shutdown has rippled through the global economy for two weeks now, anger is growing exponentially. There really is nothing worse than selfishness and greed taken to the level of excess, rudeness and insensitivity to the plight of your neighbors.

To not take into consideration how the lives of others would be harmed by the political action of closing a huge government like America displays the height of hubris on steroids. There will be repercussions come election day. The American public will not just move on and forget how they and their families got screwed over by national politicians on a joy ride at our expense...

A Truth Journal: Military Sexual Assaults: Finally Time For Entire Pentagon Chiefs to Resign?: From Denny: After a damning report that revealed 26,000 sexual assaults just in 2012 alone, you would think someone over at the Pentagon would resign in shame.

After 3400 plus officially reported cases that actually went up the chain of command from a few brave commanders not willing to cover it up, there were only 190 of those 3400 plus sexual assaults and rapes that went to court. No one resigned in shame for this pathetic record...

The Social Poets: 2012 DNC Complete Speech: First Lady Michelle Obama, Hard Work More Important Than Income: From Denny: This is the speech touted by analysts as flawlessly and passionately delivered. Michelle Obama is definitely President Obama's best asset in this close election. Her popularity soars higher than his by a long shot.

She is also known as the Hugger In Chief, slowing down receiving lines and event visits to stop and hug everyone who wants that close and kindly connection. Kids love her.

Of course, her aides all groan as she takes far too long (their estimation) to make it down the way to start an event. Awesome Hugging is quickly becoming her signature. I find it delightful in a time when society is always too much in a hurry to stop and really notice one person at a time.

It will be interesting to see, decades from now, how her hugging visits affected and inspired some of those kids to go into politics or public service. Remember, it was President Bill Clinton that met President John Kennedy in person when he was a teen. That meeting inspired Clinton to go into public service.
